Botulinum toxin
Botox is one of the most effective and most commonly chosen methods of reducing expression lines, which are caused by the natural work of the facial muscles. The treatment involves precisely injecting small doses of botulinum toxin into specific places, which temporarily blocks nerve conduction in the muscles responsible for creating wrinkles. As a result the muscles stop contracting excessively, and the skin becomes smoother and more rested. The procedure is safe, acts only locally and is completely reversible.
About the treatment
One of the greatest advantages of Botox is that the treatment is short, needs no recovery period and lets you return to daily activities immediately. Done properly, it gives a natural effect without a 'mask' look and preserves facial expression and a relaxed look. The first results are visible within up to 7 days, and the full effect appears after about two weeks and lasts on average four to six months. During this time the face looks younger and fresher, and wrinkles become less visible. Once the effect wears off, the treatment can be safely repeated to keep enjoying a natural, rejuvenated look.

After the treatment: what to expect
After the treatment small bumps and local redness may appear and disappear after a few dozen minutes. For 4 hours do not lie down or bend over. For 24 hours avoid exercise, sauna and facial massage; do not rub the injection sites. Small bruises may occur.

Botulinum toxin is for people with expression lines on the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes, with very active facial expressions or asymmetry. It also helps as prevention, before wrinkles become fixed. We also use it for bruxism and hyperhidrosis, which we describe on separate pages.
One treatment is usually enough, and it takes about 30 minutes. After 4-6 months, when the effect wears off, the treatment can be repeated.
The first results show after 3-7 days and the full effect after about 14 days. The effect lasts 4-6 months on average.
There is no recovery period. After the treatment small bumps and redness may appear and disappear within a few dozen minutes, and sometimes minor bruises. For 4 hours do not lie down or bend over, and for 24 hours avoid sport, saunas and facial massage and do not rub the injection points.
We do not give botulinum toxin during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with neuromuscular diseases such as myasthenia, with an allergy to the ingredients, or with an infection or inflammation at the injection site. Chronic diseases in an acute phase and some medicines that affect neuromuscular transmission can also stand in the way, so the doctor always asks about your health and medicines before the treatment. Whether the treatment is safe for you is decided by the doctor at the consultation.
